PUMCHВ 1953 году профессора Сунь Жу Яо и Ван Цяо Чжан основали независимый стоматологический отдел на базе существующей стоматологической клиники. С приходом таких специалистов, как Лай Цин Шэн, Цянь Сюэ Цзюнь, Тянь Энь Шунь, Хуан Чао Цзюнь, Юй Цзя Чжэнь, Гао Мэн Линь и Вэнь Чжу Сян, стоматологический отдел больницы Синьхэ вошел в период быстрого развития. На тот момент стоматологический отдел имел высокую академическую репутацию в стране: профессор Сунь Жу Яо был главным редактором журнала «Китайская стоматология», а профессор Ван Цяо Чжан и профессор Юй Цзя Чжэнь занимали руководящие должности в стоматологическом обществе.
В октябре 1978 года профессора Ван Цяо Чжан и Сунь Жу Яо приняли первую группу из трех аспирантов. В 1979 году был основан стоматологический лабораторный центр, который начал проводить исследования и клиническую работу в области патологии, иммунологии и биохимии. В области стоматологии профессор Ван Цяо Чжан был отмечен за свои достижения в исследовании этиологии кариеса, включая создание теории гликогена, на первой национальной научной конференции после десяти лет смятения.
С 2002 года, после объединения больницы с Главной почтовой больницей, стоматологический отдел получил новые возможности для дальнейшего развития и расширения.
