PUMCHDie Abteilung für Gastroenterologie ist eine der ältesten Fachabteilungen des Krankenhauses, die unter der Leitung von Professor Zhang Xiaoqian, einem Pionier der modernen Inneren Medizin in China, und dem renommierten Gastroenterologen Professor Chen Minzhang gegründet und gefördert wurde. Nach jahrzehntelangen Anstrengungen hat sich die Abteilung zu einem bedeutenden Fachbereich mit Einfluss sowohl im In- als auch im Ausland entwickelt. Die Gastroenterologie bietet ein umfassendes Spektrum an Subdisziplinen, hochqualifiziertes Personal sowie starke klinische und labortechnische Fähigkeiten und ist ein Zentrum für hochrangige Gastroenterologie, Endoskopie und die Behandlung komplexer schwerer Erkrankungen. Innerhalb der Abteilung gibt es ein hochrangiges, landesweit ausgerichtetes Zentrum für die Behandlung entzündlicher Darmerkrankungen und Pankreaserkrankungen, ein Ausbildungszentrum für gastrointestinale Endoskopie sowie ein Zentrum für die Behandlung von gastrointestinalen Funktions- und Motilitätsstörungen.
