PUMCHKhoa Tiêu Hóa là một trong những chuyên khoa được thành lập sớm nhất tại bệnh viện, được lãnh đạo và phát triển bởi Giáo sư Zhang Xiaoqian, một bậc thầy trong ngành nội khoa hiện đại của Trung Quốc, và Giáo sư Chen Minzhang, một chuyên gia nổi tiếng về bệnh tiêu hóa. Qua nhiều thế hệ nỗ lực, Khoa Tiêu Hóa đã phát triển thành một chuyên ngành trọng điểm có ảnh hưởng lớn cả trong và ngoài nước.
Khoa Tiêu Hóa có đầy đủ các chuyên ngành phụ, đội ngũ nhân lực dồi dào, và sức mạnh kỹ thuật lâm sàng cũng như phòng thí nghiệm vững mạnh, là một trung tâm chẩn đoán và điều trị bệnh tiêu hóa, nội soi và bệnh lý nặng cao cấp. Trong khoa có các trung tâm chẩn đoán và điều trị bệnh viêm ruột và bệnh lý tụy hàng đầu quốc gia, trung tâm đào tạo nội soi tiêu hóa, cũng như trung tâm chẩn đoán và điều trị rối loạn chức năng và động học đường tiêu hóa.
